Foovana Biography 2005

The idea for Foovana was initially thought of in 2003 as a Foo Fighters tribute band. Then the thinking shifted towards doing a bit of everything Dave Grohl has been involved in. Naturally Nirvana became an obvious choice to combine the two bands together and thus was born Foovana. As an added bonus the band even delves into the one Queens of the Stone Age album recorded with Grohl.

Foovana have been steadily turning heads with the energy of their live shows. Capturing the volatile energy, raw emotion that was Nirvana and putting it together with the pop sensibility and melodic hooks of Foo Fighters, Foovana are becoming one of the premiere live tribute acts in Toronto .

All the members of the band convey the energy of their respective roles. Robert Cavanna on drums/backing vocals drives the bands energy complimented with the pulsating prowess of Scott Clayton on bass. All of which is executed by Michael ‘Bones’ Legault on guitar/lead vocals, with jet like screams and imposing, hard hitting guitar playing.

As of late another member has been added to the band, Ron Bechard. An accomplished guitar player Ron has joined the band as a guitarist/lead vocalist. His experience and talent fully complete the band and the fact that his resemblance to Kurt Cobain is an added bonus for all Nirvana fans out there!
